Doddle Warranty

DODDLE ELECTRIC , incorporated under Companies Act of 2013, Registered at 25, 3rd Floor, ShreejiBhavan, 7 Gazdar Street, Chira Bazar, Mumbai – 400002, Maharashtra, India and Located at 421, KaliandasUdyogBhavanSadanandHasuTandel Marg, Near Century Bazaar, Prabhadevi, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400025 India with CIN: U34300MH2021PTC360534 and GST No. 27AAICD5025D1ZY, issues this Warranty Policy (“Policy”) to its customers (“Customer”), outlining the manufacturer warranties applicable to electric vehicles and associated components manufactured by Doddle Electric and purchased by the Customer.

This Warranty Policy supersedes any statements, representations, or conditions mentioned in advertisements, catalogues, or any other promotional materials and shall be the sole governing document regarding warranty terms.

All capitalized terms used in this Warranty Policy but not explicitly defined shall hold the same meaning as prescribed in the Purchase Terms. This Policy forms an integral part of the Consolidated Terms as outlined in the Purchase Terms, and all relevant provisions therein are incorporated herein by reference.

The specific warranty coverage, duration, terms, conditions, and exclusions applicable to Doddle Electric vehicles and components are detailed in this Warranty Policy.

  1. DEFINITIONS

For the purposes of this Warranty Policy, the following terms shall have the meanings ascribed to them herein, unless the context otherwise requires:

1.1 “Battery” refers to the lithium-ion battery supplied with the Vehicle.

1.2“Normal use” refers to:

(i) The intended operation of the Warranted Part(s) for a rider and passenger, with appropriate safety gear, as specified in the User Manual and in compliance with local regulations;

(ii) Charging the Battery exclusively with the charger provided by Doddle Electric;

(iii) Adhering to the prescribed storage and usage protocols outlined in the User Manual; and

(iv) Conducting routine care and preventive maintenance of the Vehicle and Warranted Part(s) as per the User Manual.

1.3 “Charger” denotes the off-board charger supplied by Doddle Electric at the time of Vehicle purchase.

1.4 “Defect” refers to any condition that hinders the normal functioning of Warranted Part(s) due to a manufacturing defect, excluding circumstances outlined in Clause 3 of this Policy.

1.5 “Vehicle” means the Doddle Electric two-wheeler, inclusive of the Battery and Charger.

1.6 “Warranted Part(s)” encompasses the Battery, Charger, and all other components of the Vehicle, excluding consumables such as oil, rubber parts, plastic components, tyres, or any other parts as determined at the sole discretion of Doddle Electric.

1.7 “Warranty Period”for each Warranted Part(s), shall be as outlined in Clause 2.5 of this policy, or 20,000 kilometres, whichever occurs first starting from the date of issuance of the Vehicle’s sale invoice to the Customer. This Warranty Period shall remain valid irrespective of any subsequent change in Vehicle ownership.

1.8 “User Manual” refers to the document that outlines the technical specifications, operating instructions, and maintenance guidelines for the Warranted Part(s).

  1. WARRANTIES

2.1 Subject to the terms, conditions, and exclusions outlined herein, Doddle Electric warrantsthatunderNormalUse:

(a) The Warranted Part(s), manufactured and sold under the Doddle Electric brand, shall be free from defects in material and workmanship during the applicable Warranty Period; and
(b) The nominal storage capacity of the Battery, as determined by Doddle Electric’s standard testing procedures, shall not degrade beyond 30% of its published nominal capacity within the Warranty Period.

2.2 Doddle Electric’s obligation under this Warranty Policy is strictly limited to either repairing or, at its sole discretion, replacing—either directly or through its authorized service partners—any Warranted Part(s) that, upon inspection, are found to have a Defect. This applies only if the Defect is not a result of any excluded event outlined in Clause 3 of this Warranty Policy or due to any act or omission by the Customer. Doddle Electric reserves the right to carry out such repairs as deemed necessary to restore the Vehicle to its original functionality.

2.3 In the event of part replacement, except for the Charger, Vehicle electronics, and Battery, Doddle Electric reserves the right to use suitable and compatible replacement parts at its sole discretion. For the Charger, Vehicle electronics, and Battery, Doddle Electric retains the sole discretion to repair or replace components with new, refurbished, or reconditioned genuine parts that meet functional requirements. When repairing or replacing the Battery, the repair or replacement may not restore it to an “as new” condition; however, Doddle Electric ensures that the energy capacity of the replacement Battery will be at least equivalent to that of the original Battery before failure, taking into account factors such as vehicle age and mileage. All parts removed or replaced under this Warranty Policy shall become the property of Doddle Electric, with no further claims or rights accruing to the Customer.

2.4 The warranty on replaced or repaired parts shall remain valid only for the remaining duration of the original Warranty Period.

2.6 The warranty is applicable only to vehicles purchased from authorized dealers.Warranty repairs/replacements will be done free of charge for parts and labour will charged as per job work. Any warranty claim must be filed with an original purchase invoice and warranty registration details.

  1. EXCLUSION

Doddle Electric shall not be liable under this Warranty Policy for the following exclusions:

3.1 Exclusions Due to External Factors or Customer Actions

Doddle Electric shall not be responsible for any damages or defects in the Vehicle or Warranted Parts resulting from:

(a) Accidents, collisions, or impact from external objects;

(b) Theft, vandalism, or unauthorized tampering;

(c) Negligence in maintaining the Vehicle or Warranted Parts;

(d) Use of the Vehicle outside the scope of Normal Use; 

(e) Unauthorized modifications or tampering with software or technology incorporated in the Vehicle or Warranted Parts;

(f) Installation or use of non-recommended accessories, parts, or consumables, and any resultant damage;

(g) Use of non-approved oils, fluids, or other consumables not specified by Doddle Electric;

(h) Unauthorized modifications or repairs performed by entities other than Doddle Electric or its authorized service partners;

(i) Continued operation of the Vehicle after receiving a warning of a mechanical or operational issue;

(j) Failure to keep Vehicle software updated;

(k) Improper lifting or transportation of the Vehicle, leading to damage;

(l) Acts of God, environmental factors, and external conditions, including but not limited to earthquakes, floods, war, riots, road debris, industrial fallout, and extreme weather conditions;

(m) Usage beyond intended transportation purposes, such as racing, off-road driving, or participation in motorsports;

(n) Exposure of the Battery to direct flames or submersion in water;

(o) Defects caused by failure of another Vehicle component, except where due to a manufacturing defect;

(p) Overloading the Vehicle beyond specified weight limits;

(q) Extended periods without charging the Battery;

(r) Failure to adhere to prescribed storage and non-usage guidelines in the User Manual;

(s) Neglect of routine maintenance leading to insufficient ventilation or heat dissipation;

(t) Failure to report a defect within five (5) days, resulting in additional costs or damages to other Warranted Parts or the Vehicle.

3.2 Normal Wear and Tear

Doddle Electric does not cover defects in Warranted Parts that result from normal wear and tear or maintenance activities, including but not limited to brake pad adjustments, charging system cleaning, and general servicing.

3.3 General Noise and Vibration

This Warranty Policy does not cover natural occurrences of vehicle noises and vibrations, including knocks, creaks, squeals, rattles, wind resistance, or road vibrations.

3.4 Unauthorized Repairs and Modifications

Warranty claims will be void if the Vehicle or Warranted Parts have been disassembled, modified, or repaired by unauthorized third parties, or if any unauthorized parts, tools, or software have been used.

3.5 Consumable and Perishable Components

Doddle Electric does not cover defects in consumable or perishable components such as brake pads, belts,chains, seals, bushes, rubber parts, plastic parts, fluids, and lubricants.

3.6 Aesthetic or Surface-Level Issues

Warranty exclusions include discoloration, fading, or surface changes to painted, glass, plastic, and rubber components due to environmental exposure, normal wear, or use of improper cleaning products.

3.7 Vehicle Identification Tampering

If the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), chassis number, or motor serial number has been removed, defaced, or altered, the warranty will be void.

3.8 Negligence and Improper Handling

Any damage or defects resulting from negligence, improper driving, misuse, or accidental repairs carried out by unauthorized personnel shall not be covered.

3.9 Environmental Effects

Defects or damage caused by external environmental factors such as extreme heat, humidity, salt exposure, or atmospheric pollutants will not be covered under this Warranty Policy.

3.10 Failure to Avail Warranty Services

Vehicles for which the required warranty services are not availed at the prescribed intervals shall not be eligible for coverage under this Warranty Policy.

3.11 Improper Transportation

Any damage caused due to improper handling or transportation of the Vehicle by the Customer or an unauthorized third party will not be covered.

3.12 Tires and Non-Warranted Parts

The warranty does not extend to consumable parts such as tires, tubes, rubber components, or plastic materials that are subject to routine wear and tear.

3.13 Indirect or Consequential Damages

Doddle Electric shall not be liable for any loss of time, inconvenience, loss of transportation, or any incidental, indirect, or consequential damages suffered by the Customer due to defects covered under this Warranty Policy.

3.14 SIM Card Usage and Tampering

The SIM card provided with the Vehicle is not replaceable by the Customer. Any damage caused due to unauthorized attempts to replace the SIM card shall not be covered under warranty. Only Doddle Electric or its authorized representatives may replace the SIM card.

3.15 Third-Party Manufacturer Warranty

Any warranties provided by the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of specific components or parts shall be governed by their respective terms, and Doddle Electric shall not be responsible for such warranties.

  1. OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS

4.1 Customer Responsibilities

The Customer acknowledges and agrees that they are solely responsible for reading and understanding the User Manual, this Warranty Policy, the Purchase Terms, and all product warnings before operating the Vehicle. Doddle Electric and its authorized entities shall not be liable for any special, indirect, incidental, remote, or consequential damages, including but not limited to depreciation, loss of Vehicle value, or loss of use or income, arising directly or indirectly due to a breakdown of the Vehicle. The Customer shall:

(a) Perform all recommended and necessary routine care, preventive maintenance, and scheduled servicing at a Doddle Electric Authorized Service Centre, ensuring proper use of the Vehicle and Warranted Parts in accordance with the User Manual.

(b) Retain all documentation related to the Vehicle and produce it upon request at the Retail Partner or service centre for verification.

(c) Present the Vehicle at a Retail Partner or service centre for any warranty repair as soon

as a defect is detected, after notifying Doddle Electric of the defect.

(d) Comply with all applicable laws governing vehicle operation, including those specific to electric vehicles.

(e) Install software updates within a reasonable period after receiving a notification from Doddle Electric.

(f) Adhere to any recall advisories issued by Doddle Electric.

(g) Ensure that passengers and cargo do not exceed the weight limits specified in the User Manual.

(h) Transfer the User Manual, safety warnings, instructions, and this Warranty Policy to any subsequent owner, borrower, or transferee of the Vehicle.

4.2 Coverage Limitations

Doddle Electric shall bear only the costs of materials for the replacement of any Warranted Part(s) under this Warranty Policy. The Customer shall be responsible for any additional costs, including but not limited to transportation or incidental expenses.

4.3 Exclusive Warranty Disclaimer

THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS THE SOLE EXPRESS WARRANTY PROVIDED BY DODDLE ELECTRIC FOR THE VEHICLE AND BATTERY. ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, SHALL BE LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE WARRANTY PERIOD SPECIFIED HEREIN.

4.4 Post-Warranty Services

Upon expiration of the Warranty Period, any repair or replacement services provided by Doddle Electric or its Retail Partner shall be chargeable at rates specified by Doddle Electric, subject to any applicable subscription to Doddle Subscription Services.

4.5 Data Usage and Claim Validation

Doddle Electric and its Retail Partners reserve the right to utilize data logged from the Vehicle to validate warranty claims made by the Customer.

4.6 Warranty Modifications

This Warranty Policy is issued solely by Doddle Electric, and no employee, agent, authorized Retail Partner, or service centre has the authority to amend, modify, or extend this warranty.

4.7 Product Design Changes

Doddle Electric reserves the right to modify the design, features, or functionality of its Vehicles over time. However, Doddle Electric shall not be obligated to apply such modifications retroactively to previously sold Vehicles.

4.8 No Implied Representations

Any statements, conditions, representations, descriptions, or warranties contained in any catalogue, advertisement, or other publication shall not be deemed to modify, expand, or override the terms of this Warranty Policy.

4.9 Policy Updates

Doddle Electric reserves the right to revise this Warranty Policy periodically. Continued use of the Doddle Electric Vehicle, Services, or Technology shall constitute acceptance of the updated policy.

The Grievance Officer shall attempt to resolve any and all issues so brought before him /her in a fair and expeditious manner within 28 business days. After completion of the review the Grievance Officer shall submit a report to the User and the Company.
